I’ll Pray for You

You've heard it. Maybe you've even said it. But did you mean it?

I wrote this song because I'm asking myself that very question.

Whether faith is part of your story or not, most of us know what it's like to be hurt and wrestle with what comes next. You can't force conviction, healing, or an apology.

So, I bow my head.

I'd be lying if I said this came naturally. You'll find no high horse here. Simply put, in a world that runs on payback, I want to respond differently.

VERSE 1

It’s getting hard to turn the other cheek

And hold my tongue to just lose ground

Rehearsing words that I never speak

Then let things go, I lay them down

My olive branch stretches out of reach

Still, I offer what I can

It’s time to practice what I preach

Surely the Father has a plan

But there’s one thing I can do…

Only Jesus knows your heart

It’s best to let Him have His way

Give us both some grace

Every Jericho worth marching ‘round

Is going to fall at its own pace

Sometimes I wonder where my impulse goes

When frustration runs too deep

How peace slips in, God only knows

Sheltered in the Shepherd’s keep

I’d like to think that we could be friends

Though the chances seem so small

Where we’re headed, it depends

Is there a bridge or just a wall?

But there’s one thing I can do…
