It's All A Lie

I’ll Never Tell

There’s been no change no matter the source,

Day after day, those things fighting within me of course.

Desolate of hope, filled with echoes of disparaging words,

Are the years given to obsessions have become blurred?

The impressions others had of life seemed to matter most,

Hot and cold ran emotions tainted with irrational ghosts.

Their words were etched in stone or so they pretended to be true,

Now stand stark naked forcing my soul some other truth to pursue.

Incanting promiscuous enchantments all to seduce those who would listen,

First one of justice or righteousness hoping like a diamond it would glisten.

But far from the mark of persuasion, the act did only langer produce,

A force that slaughters my soul, a captive never to be loose.

So, don’t speak to me of what might have been or offer some excuse,

For it is what it is, laid bare upon the ground it’s nothing but abuse.

Don’t sashay some reason or ideology of what might have proof,

For this life, this illusion, this make believe-world is a spoof.

But don’t get upset or wring your hands or cast spells,

For what I know and you know is something I’ll never tell.
