i let

(you)

By Sara Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

you traced

the marble of my veins

until they cracked open

to kiss your fingers red.

you say you are not guilty

but your breath

carries the stench of lies;

you say i could’ve left.

i could’ve left

the warmth of your chest,

the wild in your glistening eyes,

the life that dances on your lips

but i drank the blood

that dripped from your fingers

and it was sweet.

you hurt me and i let you.
