I left my mind to starry skies
A poem was written for a Full Moon contest

I left my mind to starry skies
To chase the running train of dreams.
Then took a breath and closed my eyes.
I’ll wait until the hidden wins.
I step inside an empty room,
And nothing seems to scare my heart.
I raise my head and see the moon.
Right on the wall. Just like the art
Of painters who despise the rules.
Its light is hiding me within
The tears of purple afternoons.
I hear a song. A violin
Comes from the void and learns to fly.
It needs no help from human hands
To play the melody that I
Will try to follow. When it ends,
I will forever leave this part
Of my unconscious edge of thoughts.
The light will tear the sky apart.
The night will loosen all its knots.
But first I’ll run through ghostly walls
Of all the rooms that look like home
In some, the kingdoms fight for thrones
In other ones - the spirits roam.
There were the rooms where I forgot
I was a part of human race.
The walls themselves rewrote the plot
For all the things I got to face.
The planet of the burning flame,
The underwater city street,
The roaring winds you’ll never tame.
That’s where the fear and beauty meet.
But out of all the magic lands
The rhymes of which I’ll memorize,
I choose the one with shining sands.
And there, observing butterflies,
A poet’s looking for a muse.
Within his hand he holds a star,
And someone plays the notes of blues
On their nostalgic old guitar.
I come so close that I can hear
The sound of time that’s running out.
The magic planets disappear.
The real world is screaming loud.
I close the doors that lead to stars.
The sun will hide and I’ll return.
The night will heal my deepest scars.
I don’t know how. But I will learn.
