I Learned My Mind At Night

Maybe it learned me...

I learned my mind at night,

When it gets too loud,

3:00 a.m, when silence turns heavy,

Like rain in a cloud.

My thoughts undress slowly,

They don’t ask to stay,

They just curl in my chest,

...Then forget how to pray.

There’s something so tender,

In breaking alone,

Like skin learning secrets,

Scars never was shown.

I breathe through the chaos,

Pretend it’s all fine,

While feelings go dancing,

Just under my spine.

It’s sensual somehow,

The way I come apart,

Like the fingers of memory,

Tracing my heart.

I laugh just to soften the weight...!

That I hold...

While warmth turns to shivers,

As if I need to be told.

And still I keep living,

Contradictions... Half ocean, half flaming heart,

A mind that keeps change

But stays just the same.
