I Know Who I am

You Judge Me

By Daniel L. Chapman III, M.Sc. - The Bridge Theory ProjectPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

You open your mouth to judge me

Loading your words like

Military grade rifles

Taking aim at my insecurities

And I know

You want to hurt me

You throw your ignorance

Like hand grenades

Wishing your insults

Would lodge themselves

In the soft tissue of my heart

And brain

And your plan is to cripple me

You load up your planes

To drop your adjudication

In an attempt to eradicate

My freedom

But it will not work

See I have been given an armor

Of self love

And cloaked with self assurance

Your tanks couldn't even breach

The borders of my self worth

I know who I am

Daniel L. Chapman III, M.Sc. - The Bridge Theory Project

When I first joined Vocal as a founding member, I was just a kid looking for my voice. Over the years, I have put my biotech degree to use, completed a healthcare informatics degree (the M.Sc.), and re-enrolled in my PhD.
