i slipped through a door about seven.
i knew not to look back.
in awe, i was lost,
but there was no passage when i thought to return.
i stayed in hopes of a secret.
i observed from inside.
through a pane of glass, they could see me,
but i could not reach beyond the barrier.
i saw the most vibrant colors.
i heard songs that could not pierce through the veil.
when i told them, they scoffed,
but they didn't know the window was there.
i begged for the way back.
i silently screamed while they smiled and waved.
after a lifetime, i stopped my uphill clawing,
but i saw a light when i finally sat still.
i no longer wish for the path to reveal itself.
i stopped pleading for them to hear.
but do they know about the door to the in-between?
do they know you can see the end of the world there?

Your poem is a beautifully written and thought-provoking piece of work. It explores complex themes such as isolation, longing, and acceptance in a unique and compelling way. Thank you for sharing it with us.
This gets to a deep emotional truth, I think. Separation like this -- it is the end of the world. It is clawing toward the light for a lifetime. It is hopeful hopelessness for others to understand. Wow. Amazing work. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have to echo the others… surreal ! Painful, yet beautiful, yet detached, yet also deeply felt , 👌🙏❤️✨
So surreal 😭
This is wonderful. Ethereal and surreal.
This is a powerful poem, thank you for sharing
