I Find Myself On The Path To Nowhere...

Neither Here Nor There!

I find myself on the path to nowhere... neither here nor there!

I'm on this long drawn out journey

No final destination in sight

No direction

No clarity

In unknown territory

All the knowledge gained

All the lived experience in the past

Nothing can help me now

Not knowing what's to come

Do I go left

Do I go right

Standing still all through the day and night

Dreams turn to nightmares

Light turns into darkness

Smiles fade as tears emerge

I welcome the unknown but fear the known

And this... this feels like a prelude to a sad sonnet

Blessings sent from above

As I continue to hold on for dear life

Nothing seeming to go right

But I can't give up so I continue to fight

A soul exhausted

As my spirit slowly dies

My life a roller coaster

There's be more lows than highs

I take another short shallow breath

My mind filled with lies

Thoughts of despair as I try to hold back my cries

Cries of hopelessness

Fears of my own demise

The thoughts of uselessness try to creep in

They try to go under

Then begin to climb over the fence

Fast and unstoppable

The emotions flood in

Like rushing waters and rolling winds

I begin to laugh in disbelief

Who I was once

I am no more

Who am I becoming

No one truly knows

Stream of Consciousness

Who Am I?

I keep asking myself. I spent half of my life as a single mother. Pushing myself to be the strong independent individual that I have always been. My kids have grown and my life seems turned upside down.

I now search to find myself!
