I dreamt yesterday

Betty bought a bit of butter but the butter started flying...what?

A recreation, coz it was a dream....I didn't have my phone. (Made on Canva)

I dreamt yesterday

That I was baking in the kitchen.

The oven almost exploded,

And I forgot about the butter.

While I looked for the beaters,

I heard a smack.

So I parted the waterfall of my favourite plant,

And opened the door to the microwave.

It was a fast-flying, brightly coloured

Transformed block of butter.

But how the fuck did that happen?

Beating its wings rhythmically, it seemed to study me.

It still had the al-foil packaging half on it.

Stripes like a bee,

But no. Bees weren't this pretty.

In my dream I dreamt yesterday,

A block of butter flew around my kitchen.

And it made me want to hide the electric beaters I'd dug out of the cupboard.

I'd helped it find its wings!

But with the intent to add it to my mess of half-scrambled eggs.

(No, I don't know how that happened)

The butter flew,

And it kept flying.

I never thought I'd witness my butter fly,

But it was astounding.

I wanted to be that butter,

Flying around a maniac's kitchen

A warzone of unknown substances

And packaging.

The smell of yeast

And burning oil

The smoke pouring through the fly screened windows.

Somehow with the flies all INSIDE.

Yesterday I dreamt,

And in my dream I thought my microwave's metal made it malfunction.

But it only turned the butter into a flying block of butter.

So it wasn't that bad.
