I Don't Believe It

But I still feel it.

By N.ZbornakPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

Ma I wanna be a poet

But

I don't wanna be like Dad

I ripped up all the writing I'd done

Cuz you said he was famous for journaling

He's a narcissist navel gazer

But I'm his daughter

I don't want to be either of you

I got his copy of Howl

Out of the basement

The inside cover reads:

T.J. S-----, 1973

It's hard to believe that

Given everything that's happened

His sins haven't been passed to me

I don't believe it

But I still feel it

sad poetry
