Twenty Thousand and Four

Twenty thousand and four, I see the rise,

Each view a light before my eyes,

From quiet words to something more,

You carried me to this open door.

Each like you gave, each line you read,

Turned scattered thoughts to something led,

Through every story, every page,

You stood beside me, stage to stage.

I wrote from truth, from heart, from ache,

Not knowing what it all would make,

Yet here you are, you stayed, you knew,

The meaning hidden in each view.

Some nights were long, the silence loud,

Yet now I stand before a crowd,

Not seen in form, but felt so near,

Through every word you chose to hear.

So thank you all who paused to stay,

Who felt my lines along the way,

Your quiet support, your unseen part,

Has left its mark upon my heart.

Twenty thousand and four, and still I write,

Through shadowed days and softer light,

For every soul who finds me true,

This voice I have is shaped by you.
