"I can never date a Nigerian Girl" — Timaya Says In An Exclusive Podcast

Afrobeat queen, Tiwa Savage and dance Hall King, Inetimi Alfred Odon, whose stage name is Timaya, had both just released a song titled "In my head". The music video was able to gain a massive 864k views on YouTube in just 1 week of its release, while the streams across music platforms is yet to be known.

After all this, Tiwa Savage posted a tweet on X she said and i quote "You're in my head, Papi", Timaya replied "You're in my head too, abeg". This words were used as lyrics in their newly released song.

Meanwhile, Timaya's podcast video has been making rounds on the Internet in the past 24 hours. On the podcast, Timaya revealed he can never date a Nigeria girl. He further said "If I'm a Nigerian girl, i will never date a Nigerian man. I know that's myself right now, I can't date a Nigerian girl." When questioned if his current partner is a Nigerian, he said " Hell no!"

The presenter questioned if there is a reason as to why he can't date a Nigerian girl, he replied "the same foundation, the same upbringing. The relationship will be like Police and thief, it's too toxic. "We go dey lie for each other", he said.

For someone like Timaya to say this about Nigerians, it simply means he has gone through agreat ordeal when he was dating a Nigerian girl. We are all aware of what dating has become in Nigeria of today.

Let's not forget that Timaya hails from Bayelsa State, and has continued to show his imprint on the music space with attendant hit songs. Known for combining Nigerian Afro pop with elements of dancehall, hip-hop, and soca, as well as his blend of Afro-Caribbean/Dancehall music, the musician is the founder of DM (Dem Mama) Records Limited, which he is also signed to.
