I want to be that glass of whiskey,
So I can feel your lips on mine,
I want to drown myself
In the perfume of drunkenness,
I want to be brave like a shot of tequila,
Instead of settling as the chaser
Like a drunkard reminiscing,
Thoughts swirl like autumn leaves
My calloused heart hardening
The one I once clung to,
Has me thinking not you too
Ever since our trust uprooted,
Our love feels faded,
Numb from all my fears,
When I begged you to choose me,
You chose booze
I see our pictures and it's like I'm a ghost…
But I'm the one being haunted
I remember how we used to be
Now it feels like it's just you or me, no more we
Used to wear my heart on my sleeve,
Emotions opened and seen,
Pull me in a deepened kiss,
Wipe the tears from my chin
Now its made of mortar and brick,
Tears turned to a river,
My heart no longer beats, just shivers
While you're on a barstool,
I'm clearly the fool
I'm rappelling down the cliff,
With an outstretched hand,
Begging you to join me hand in hand
But you're comfortable without the risk
Is it worth losing this?
Please do not let me down like this...
Just one more chance,
I beg of you
