I Am The Earth

Poem for Mother Earth

I am a Mountain Spirit

It is to God I speak

From the lowest grass lined valley

To the highest mountain peak

Above the sea of humanity I reach up to the sky

Consciously motionless

I spread my wings to fly

I am an Ocean Nymph

My name is Naiads

I can be sweet and gentle

Or woo a sailor to his knees

My sisters both be named like me

Both with beauty abound

A Nereid and a Oceanid

Pray to them if you are ocean bound

I am a Desert Sunrise

Breaking through the cool dark night

Rhythmically I’m called each day

To bring the healing light

The morning rise brings hues of rose

painting the vibrant sand

At evening time the west light changes

oranges and peaches coat the land

I am a Forest Rain

A misty morning I might bring

Or tremendous bouts of pouring rain

Then come morning do it all again

Little frogs hop upon wet shiny leaves

Reptiles and mammals all live with me here

Trees that form a majestic canopy

Grow strong and thick year after year

I am the Earth

Mother of All

Revolving our sun

Bringing life to you all

Treat me with kindness, love and respect

Care for my creatures and nurture their young

Remember they are living

Their lives have just begun

Gypsie is a nickname given to me years ago. I love to travel, do not stay in one place very long and I’m a long-winded storyteller/author.
