I am Purple
A Delightful Dichotomy of Color and Personality

I am red and blue simultaneously. I am fiery joy and mellow sorrow. I feel deeply of rich emotions. I'm Royal, rare, at times misunderstood or undervalued. I take work to understand or even to create but I’m worth it. I'm elegant and distinguished. I'm wisteria, dreams, warm grapes in the summer.
I'm complicated, a blend of hot and cold mixed with abandon and passion. I'm quiet and ferocious by turns. I'm the subtle smell of lilacs and the intoxicating smell of lavender. I am passion and reserve ever warring for prominence. I am both fire and water together all at once. I am simply made of the complex dance between these two aspects that balance into my whole. I am the swirl of chaotic reds and blues that become one calming color. I am the powerful blend that is the color of queens. I am the humble origins of a lupin in a meadow and the lofty prestige of an Emperor’s Tyrian purple garments.
I'm curling Iris petals and unfurling, velvety roses in a soft lavender hue. I'm refined and yet a wild spirit. I have the regal bearing of a Fae Queen and all her bold independence. I wish to rule a kingdom with unquestioned authority and be left alone to enjoy my woodland bower. I am amethyst stardust sprinkled in the heavens. I'm ethereal, magical, and indefinable. I'm bold and shy. I'm the sort of complex arrangement from which dusk and magic are made. I’m real and romantic.
I am heather and purple gorse, clinging to the untamed hillsides of the Yorkshire dales. I thrive in the cold and wind and am alive in the magnificent rugged freedom of that unbroken landscape. I am hope and perseverance under pressure. I am the proud purple gladiolus standing tall in front of a quaint cottage window and lining a white picket fence. I am comfortable in my own space and minding my own business and yet too vibrant to be ignored.
I'm a wild violet growing amidst the cracks of a sidewalk, sometimes forgotten and unseen. I'm an Iris in a formal bed lining the path to an ancient stone Manor house, commanding and unforgettable. I'm immutable stained glass in a cathedral and fleeting hues in a sunset over the ocean. I am made to be venerated and still remain untamed. I am the lilac-tinged blustery fury at the edge of a storm. I am the inviting velvet pile of a cozy mauve blanket in a favorite reading chair.
I am a plum with sour skin and sweet flesh. I’m somehow surprising and familiar, distant and inviting. I’m the rich smooth color of an aubergine ripening in the sun. I am a lavender lace sundress that floats freely through the summer. I’m the sweetgum leaves that turn purple to herald the arrival of autumn. I'm a deep violet silken scarf that wards off wintry chills. I am a royal purple crocus bravely forging the path that will announce the start of spring. I'm flowers and fairytales. I am fragile hope and vibrant strength.
