I am at one with Nature

One perfect stolen moment of bliss

Dappled sunshine filters

through dwarf bamboo

crushed up against corrugated iron

fence painted midnight blue.

Mourning doves coo from the nest

in the camelia tree as

stripey nectar thief

clumsily collides into gaping,

bosomy rose, intoxicated.

Butterfly basks on red brick

while the wind ushers

through the cypress pine

telling me to please please hush.

No more crazy, no more angry,

no more stone cold fear that

plagues in the deadened night.

I am released,

I am at one with Nature

all around, no more,

no less ... at peace.
