I am the sound of pen to paper

I am a page turning

I am mist of rain falling

I am water rippling in a plastic cup

I am cool water as I take a sip

This is a poetry exercise I learnt. It’s called Precision Detail.

You take two minutes to write down everything you can see, hear, smell, and feel in the room.

At the end of the two minutes, take your top five favourites, add “I am” to the beginning, and just like that, you’ve got a poem.

It's a fun activity to do with a large group, as it can show you how everyone sees the room differently.

I'd love to read yours if you give it a go.
