To have many heads

By Mark Stigers Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

In swamp of Lerna deep and dark,

I fill men’s hearts with dread.

I am a warning stark,

for I bear nine heads.

If you cut one head off of me,

two will grow back in its place.

This way can’t you see,

I will lay your soul to waste.

A cold shock will seize your heart

And fill it with despair.

For when I breathe then I start

To taint the very air.

Many a Valiant hero died,

when foolishly me they sought.

How many widows have cried,

when against me their men fought.

I am the guardian of secrets rare.

Do you want me to meet?

What treasures are in my lair?

Can you bring my defeat?
