You were clearly skeptical about me

Contemporary villains share my face

I'm not the lecherous scoundrel; you'll see

Time has eaten what I once had of grace

Of suave flirtation and charming nonsense

I am fresh out; a swarm of cold echoes

Haunts the grave of so many temptations

You will know it when fragrant, firm youth goes

And fun you used to make is made of you

Your smile does seem sincere though, and you bring

An end to hunger, thirst and silence; do

Look at these strange marks I made on nothing

They are your fingerprints on my old mind

Humoring ancient nerds is very kind

Sonnet
