To Have Grown

I’ve been a lot of places,

I've seen a lot of things

I've walked the line of madness

I’ve crossed the realm of dreams

I’ve fought a hundred battles

I’ve sang a thousand songs

I’ve risen from the ashes

Of lessons learned from wrongs

I’ve fallen into darkness

And sank into the muck

I’ve wallowed in self pity

I’ve brought myself back up

I’ve freed myself of envy

I’ve rid myself of guilt

I’ve wrought a demolition

Of all the walls I built

Iv’e pondered on the future

Iv’e visited the past

But only in the present

Did I find peace at last
