My fringe caught fire in this world’s red
Tossed and thrown, my edges shred.
I thought I'd burn, but as I waited for the flame,
just as suddenly as it came,
life's red became a softened bright
filling me with all its light.
Hues of vivid air so fresh,
of warmth and joy and calming rest.
What felt like years but maybe days,
Somewhere along the twisted ways
my self appeared, like new.
Blue so blue they were not blue,
Greens so green they were not green,
and as I lost myself in this sea,
I could not imagine how I had ever floated along
without seeing me.
