Bruises Don't Show Up Too Well On You

Whether due to strength or your colorful hue

Bruises don’t show up too well on you

Almost as if one knew

You’d need that superpower

Is there anything more valuable than peace?

When u meet defeat yet never defeated

The victim turns to victor and the victor shows its teeth

Not out of spite, but in spite of

The kind that wrinkles the eyes

and dimples the cheeks

The kind that levitates on levity

Despite the bad news for weeks

Because the magic

Outweighs the tragic stories

And the moot pointed peeks

You’re insane to relentlessly continue to pursue

But then again

Whether due to strength or your colorful hue

Bruises don’t show up too well on you
