How Will It Be

Examining two paths and where they lead.

By Jason MortonPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

When the sun comes out, will we all still be

Times, they are changing, but not for the best

Will something be waiting on the other side of the sea

When the sun comes out, will we have passed the test

---

When the darkness lifts above our heads, will we be more

Or will it all have been meaningless, and we sadly are the same

Only the selected few will ever know the sound, the mighty roar

It grew so dark because too many treated it all like some game

---

When the truth comes out that it was not meant to be paradise

And the heavens crumble before our eyes

Will any of those staring into the abyss even stop, and maybe think twice

Or will the howls be from their unending cries

---

When looking back on things that are behind

Will we see something that we can be proud of

When it all comes out, will it have been a legacy of being strong but kind

Or will it be that of someone who didn't know the value of love

---

Isn't how you spend your days as important as how you meet your end

Or do you continue to spend them unwisely, without a second thought

Will you die surrounded by the ones you love, their dear friend

Or choose to live a life that leaves you cursed to suffer and rot

---

In the end, will you have seen the time

And chosen to open up your eyes

Or lived like it was a crime

Alone and miserable when you stare up at the skies

---

How will it be

It's up to none other

Don't wait too long to see

For this life, it's you it will smother
