How to Keep Going Even When You're Ready For Death

A Way of Life

Pry your eyelids open,

Wipe the crusties.

Depending on how deep in it you are,

Sigh miserably.

Shove yourself out of bed,

Pass a mirror,

The voices in your head will talk,

Be mean and judgemental,

"You're not good enough," the voices whisper. "You will never be."

In the bathroom, you scrub your teeth, maybe brush your hair.

Say, "Whatever." Doesn't matter anyway.

At breakfast, your family lives their lives it life goes on,

Nobody notices your mental state,

And if they do, they just don't care.

"You're an attention seeker." They may say.

The day ahead seems unbearable. It probably is.

Work, school, whatever.

You'll spend your whole day feeling useless, empty, sad, or a combination of all three.

Tasks grow old, tedious, and meaningless.

Just like your life.

It's like, nothing even feels okay anymore.

Small talk does you in and you want to launch yourself down a flight of stairs.

Finally, your day has come to a close.

Home at last.

You retire to your bed,

Breath a breath of relief. Flick the lights off, and succumb to the dark void.
