How many women.

Poetry about having false hope in the worst of times.

“While the heart beats, hope lingers.” -Alison Croggon

How many women

How many women saw the moon and looked for themselves

How many women prayed for the miracles that hadn’t happened yet.

How many women slept with a heart full of hope

Only to realise that moon had left them all alone

How many women pleaded for him to return

And how many women had to die getting burned

Many more women will come

As for the moon, he wasn’t done
