How Far to Go?

N8

By James GreenPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

Down the hole, how far to go?

Sniff away, make ends meet the day.

So far down, not a glimmer of light around.

Belly empty, foraging, poor.

What use is the hole? Nothing down here. More.

Sniff, sniff. Sound. No more fussing around.

Hole escape. To the sunshine and the lake. Air fresh outside. No more dirt slide.

Hungry but not tired; out of the hole, mired.

What a day it has been. Nothing found. Lake. Clean.

Another day at the end? No prizes, no lend.

Tomorrow is a day to conquer, another hole to find yonder.

Today is at an end. Sleep now, mend.
