How Connected Are We Really?
The trial of growth, the imbalance of heights, and finding dignity in the shallows.
How connected are we really?
Canopy tree, reach high towards the filtered sky
As I breathe through my lungs of brittle twigs.
.
I settle like silt ballast under your vault,
Weighted down by gravity, hard speck by hard speck.
Stone by stone, building a foundation in the dark,
My own heartwood, hidden deep
Guarded inside the chambers of my chest.
.
Just outside that subaudible leak, that hush of leaves
You stand high, but the sky still reflects in my eyes
The trial is in the bearing, and I will meet you some day.

A/N: Have you ever felt like you were building your own foundation in the dark while waiting for your time to reach the sky?
