Hourglass Awake

watching it pass by

Shadows cast by evening’s gentle glow,
The sands of time slip softly through our hands,
Each grain a moment lost, a fleeting show,
As twilight deepens over silent lands.

We count the hours like children chasing dreams,
Yet dreams are but reflections in the glass,
With every tick, reality redeems
The promises we made that never pass.

Oh how the stars will witness our embrace,
As dusk drapes memories upon our skin;
But whispers of tomorrow leave no trace—
What once was certain now feels frail and thin.

So let us dance beneath this silver light,
For how much time we have left is unknown;
In every heartbeat lies a spark so bright—
This moment's all we hold to call our own.

Each laugh and tear a testament to life,
A tapestry of joy and bitter strife.
