Captive

By The OmnichromiterPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

"Slow and steady" as they say,

But my heart beats a rhythm

Like a voice in the rain.

I can hear the time coming.

From the silence, I am running

On the wings of the wind;

Back to where it all began.

But the angels have all gone.

The Psalms are no longer sung,

And hate followed me, quiet.

Love at the back of my mind,

Held together by pieces of you;

And a lifetime of lies.

About the Creator

The Omnichromiter

I write stories like spells—soft at the edges, sharp underneath. My poems are curses in lace, lullabies that bite back. I don’t believe in happily ever after. I believe in survival, transformation; in burning and blooming at the same time.
