I have never faced a monster
Who scared me more
A concept
Who made me more unsure
It hurts the further it is from me
Burns the closer it gets
Blinds me
Paralyzes me
When I want it to hide
It makes sure to be seen
When I’m searching desperately for it
It’s nowhere to be found
They say it’ll feed you
When you’re weak
Bring you out
From depression
But I’ve seen it make you keep walking
When you’re starving to no end
And lead you further
Into your own darkest thoughts
So today I cast it off
This monster humanity named hope
I’d rather live for sure today
Then die for a possible tomorrow
