Open eyes. Fuck! Not again!

Pink and yellow bliss

framed window sunrise. Hope.

Close eyes. Black. Better.

Alarm clock cat,

Feed me! Time to eat! Feed me! Hope.

Pins and needles feet,

splayed toes, up and running.

Raining crusty biscuits, tip tap, tap tip.

Ankle rub of approval. Critter love.

*

Marmalade acid tongue,

sweet, yet bitter.

Slick toasted sustenance, almost better.

Breathe deeply. Count to four.

Hold four, out four. Hold four, out four.

Wipe cobwebs from crown of head.

Better. Much better.

*

I see you now! There you are!

Where have you been? Where are you going?

*

I've been here and there.

I was. I am. Now and then.

*

Good to know you again, old friend.

Let's see, where did we leave off?

Close eyes. Pink and yellow bliss.
