A childhood overfilled with neglect
A life in which small victories are few and far between
Dreams like the awe-inspiring Hyperion
Alas, success avoids me
As if it was disgusted by my mere existence.

Perpetually absentminded
Fog cloaking the mind
Enabling memories to escape.

My life summarized by a cruel statement
"I was hoping it was someone who mattered"
Echoing through the empty hall
An unexpected assault
The words sharp like broken glass
Piercing through the rusted metal of my already weakened armor
The antagonist possessing the blade
Twisting the knife
A grin on his face as my body went limp.

Restlessness my profession
Hiding behind a mask
My heart a runaway
All of it my fault.

Hollow is all I know
Pessimism my middle name
Bargaining
Praying.

The problem with being a nice person
Who would have thought that being a nice person could be problematic. The majority of people would tell you that’s what they want to be or at least want those around them to be, but as it turns out, what we want and what we say we want are worlds apart. I won't stress or ramble on about how I would like things to be, but I’ll just analyze why this is, I am not sure either if a solution is even possible.
