Hope

I believe in forgiveness,

in making honest mistakes,

and learning from the consequences of your actions.

I believe in taking one more step,

even when you're scared to walk off that tall tower of excuses

built from your own regret and frustration.

I believe in the power that is given to the pathological liars;

when no one notices the sweat dripping from their guilty conscience-

while they read us another story from the book of the life they lived in a dream.

I believe in the dreamers who lose hope when the optimism they love so much

is overpowered by the anxiety that was etched into their brain the last time they failed to fly.

I believe in those of us who continue to be who we are,

no matter how many mistakes we make, or lies we tell.
