Homesick

Mountain tops promote a stinging icy breeze

along the insides of sweat-draped sleeves

climbing to the edge of this valley

to enjoy it's blissful peak

ᨒ

The backdrop of our desert city

painting rocky edges protruding like ivy

into the blazing sunburnt heaven above

as it quickly rounds its way

into another moonlit night to lay

ᨒ

Showering us with a place

where the stars take up space

that our lonely minds once raced

while escaping those worries and fates

stored 2000 quick miles away

in the town once viewed

as the one and only

home.
