I wander the daily hours always searching,
Lost, alone, knowing there has got to be more,
Where’s the living in just existing?
Where’s the hope, the dreams, the forgotten ardour?
😞
I’m terribly homesick,
Pining for a place that may not even exist,
A place far out of left field,
One that once I find I’ll not be able to resist.
😞
A place so far out of my comfort zone,
Where my heart is consistently full to the brim,
My body is loved to the ninth degree,
And my soul one in which I’m proud to swim.
😞
The field I’m looking to discover
And I’m sure it’s out there somewhere,
Is one of such pure happiness
That I’ll have enough in which to share.
😞
This place is a projection of my desires,
Full of love, passion and fire,
Leaving behind the hatred, anger and ice,
The insecurities, the worries, the heavy price.
😞
I’ll search for the source of my homesickness
Until the day I take my last breath,
I’ll wander the days alone if need be,
Until the day of my certain death.
😞
But I hope that’s not the case,
And I will find the place in which I want to share,
The field of possibilities out there somewhere,
And when I do, will you meet me there?

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Oh. Let me know if you find it. I'll gladly meet you there.
I love your word choice so much, I audibly went MMMMM after reading this.
Colleen, "The field of possibilities." I am still searching, Diane.
Omgggg yessss, I'll meet you there my kindred spirit! 🥰🥰🥰
That sounds like heaven ♥️
Something tells me that when you find this place, the one for whom you are looking & asking if they will meet you there will, in fact, already be there. And together you will redefine paradise, peace & contentment for one another.
