Home Is...

By Heather Whitley Published 5 years ago • 1 min read
Home is where peace is known to abide

Home is where peace is known to abide.

Where my first tooth grew loose, and on Santa, I spied.

Where I looked through the eyes of my youth and I cried,

I laughed, I smiled, and took life by surprise.

Home is not just a building, but the people inside.

It's more than a feeling or thought in my mind.

It's more than all the wonders life's allowed me to find-

a culmination of memories, both rain, and shine.

My son, kin, and friends are what make my home thrive.

Though imperfect, they're perfect, and I'm grateful they're mine.

I don't deserve them, but I thank God for being so kind.

And for addressing to me this blessing of home, of life.
