I sit away from the noise and the crowd,
Away from the city rooms filled with starving women in sparkling gowns.
Swinging between trees and peaking at the clouds.
It’s a place where men can have feelings without being shut out
Even when we don’t get along with our neighbors we’d still have a place to lay down,
Because at the end of the day we know everyone’s different and we don’t push each other away so we can be proud.
Everyone is close to a certain extent, and sometimes we can get aggressive and loud..
But we all love deeply only to get treated like clowns,
We still give to the world because we’ve always known how it feels to be broke down.
Many of our lowest times were years before we saw caps and gowns,
And even when our challenges held us by our throats we still found a way around.
The place I can be my best self is often compared to the pound,
But it’s the place I forever return to, because it’s memory my heart will not let out.
This is where my bones will be buried in the ground,
Because every time I find a way out
I can never find the fulfillment I’m looking for, so I always return to my little town.
This is the place my demons escape, and there’s enough love for everyone to pass around.
