When my sore heart longs to feel content,

And cold winds of chaos chill and chafe,

I come to you without lament:

A place I’m cared for, comforted, and safe.

Inside your walls I shall not fear

To be myself, unburdened, free.

The open arms I seek are here,

My quirks, embraced, I can be me.

Home is a warm space I come to rest,

To imbibe your welcome like a cure--

A tonic time itself cannot best.

There is one thing my heart knows for sure:

No matter how far I roam,

I am always eager to come back home.
