The Search

Lost

Lost

In the meaning of home

Home holds identity, belonging and roots

But for me it’s a mystery

These words are unknown

Free

Fall

Falling through the days

Time passes me by as I search for belonging

I’m not alone

But I’m lost in a maze

Twists

Turns

Countless paths for me to take

The stroke of a brush, or the ivories in song

These very words I’ve produced

Fulfil my dream to create

Dream

Dream

I’ve chased so many dreams but never found my home

Travelled the world in search of the physical

The click of my camera

To capture and keep for my own

Loved

Held

People surround me, family and friends

Care for me, support me in everything

But I’m never content, never complete

I love all those people, but I can’t pretend

Winds

Seas

Separate loved ones

As I travel the world at my parents heels

The experiences and views I love of course

But I lose normal life when I’m chasing the sun

Click

Clack

The wheels of baggage on the airport floor

Why do I feel more at home in a place where no-one stays?

Everyone’s different, everyone’s lost

Coming and going from opposite shores

Lost

Lost

Seeking my place in travels and church

Clutching my home in brushes and notes

Comfortable in a place full of the unknown

Lost and found

My home is the search
