HOME

what it is to me

HOME

Home is Comfort,

Home is Love,

Home is Friendship,

Home is a Hug,

Home is where my heart longs to be

When I'm in a far away land,

Or out to sea,

Or at a nearby market down the street,

Or when I'm overburdened with weary tasks,

Home is where I long to be. . .

It's a warm, golden, place

I can lay my head.

It's a safe, peaceful, place

I can sleep in bed.

Where puppies snuggle on cozy couches,

And bubbling laughter rolls thru houses.

It's heartfelt conversations,

It's tears and embraces

It's family and friends familiar faces.

Where clean fragrances linger,

Of lavender and of rose,

Freshly hung linens,

Where warm winds blow,

Oh the memories of Home are so dear to me,

Where I tied my first shoe -

And taught my son too.

How to ride a bike and whistle and snap,

We can't forget those things -

What's life without that?

Home is a place of:

Family bar-b-ques and bumble bees,

And hanging shiny ornaments on Christmas trees.

It's pink and blue Easter egg hunts,

A dip in the pool, and a light summer lunch.

Home is where:

I kissed my first love

A place where I could pick fruit

From branches above

I hope to find my home again, one day

Where my grandchildren will come to play.

That is Home to me,

I'm on my way. . .
