my heart expands
my breathing deepens
and my shoulders drop
as I walk beneath
a canopy of green
ears filled
with the sound of leaves
in the breeze
crickets chirping
and the crunch crunch
of each step
as I journey on
dew covered leaves
glisten in the sun
on a late summer
morning
the woods
call to me
once again
