Where do you find home?

By Sonja DixonPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Home isn't always where you can go and find peace,

because there will always be someone or something to disturb it.

Home isn't always where you can go to rest and sleep,

because there will always be someone or something there to keep you from it.

Home isn't always where someone can go to relax and be lazy,

because there will always be something that needs to be done.

Where do you find home then? Where do you go when you want to find peace, rest, and relaxation?

Home can be in the arms of the one you love, in arms that can calm a raging mind, protect you from the words of the cruel world.

Home can be in the music that plays to ease your troubled mind, losing yourself in the lyrics of a song.

Home can be on that long drive or bike ride that takes away the worries of the day with every breeze and every sound of nature that evades your soundwaves.

Or home could be closing your eyes and taking yourself away from the busy life even for a moment so you can tell yourself, "It's gonna be okay."

To take that breath and breathe away that anger and pain for that one moment when things are just insane.

Home doesn't have to be an address or a room, it doesn't even have to have a roof, or a doorway, home can be anywhere you need it, so just breathe and take that moment to embrace it because no one can ever evict you or take it so no need to look far home is where you make it.
