Silent Cry for Help

By Mercedes ChavezPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

There is no place for me

No place that feels like home

I no longer have a safe haven

No where to run where I feel safe

I am lost, feeling utterly alone in this world

I see the faces of those I love

They look at me and only see the mask

The smile that hides every broken piece of me

The laugh that muffles my cries for help

I hear their reassurances

The voices all saying the same thing in unison

They care... they love me

All muffled together until everything gets tuned out

To feel numb, to feel nothing

It may be the coward's way to deal with everything

But maybe then, I will finally get to experience some level of peace

I don't know where I belong

I don't know who I am now

But one thing is certain

I crave a place to call home
