Winter in the Mountains

By Veronica FernandezPublished 6 years ago 1 min read
Home Sweet Home

I like it sweet, like maple syrup

Straight from the trees, washed down with hyssop.

I’d drink it from a water fountain

It feels like home here in the mountains.

I like the evergreen's strong scent

Reminds me of a long lost friend.

It clears my mind and soothes my soul

It feels like home here in the cold.

I like the warmth here by the fire

The softest storm brings out desire

Straight from my heart, into your arms

It feels like home here in the stars

I like the wind it gives me shivers

It dances dust along the river

I listen to its sweet soft song

It’s felt like home here all along.
