when the p a i n becomes too much

when the darkness sets in the void

c a r v e away

until nothing is l e f t behind

no flesh to muscle

bone to marrow

nothing left to want

or need

or take

nothing left to break

or even feel

just h o l l o w

the absence of everything

and for a moment

the silence feels like mercy

you have made a home

of the emptiness
