I grew up with stories of you

Of angels, perfect in soul

I performed the routines

They belived so fully in

I prayed with an open heart

That soon grew closed

Angel, I ask you

what have you done?

have you eased pain?

Has the world even felt

Your footprints in the sand

Angel, I ask you,

What makes me so unworthy?

So unclean?

If your love hinges

On conversion

On changing the canvas

Before the artist can begin

Then I don't want it

I ask you, let go

Leave me be

Rather than the guiding light

I desperatly desire

Angel, what you call imperfection

I call human

surreal poetry
