Hold Your Babies Tight

Lyric

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago • 2 min read

[Verse]

Hold your babies tight and close to your chest tonight

Because There are no more games left to play

As the coward’s shadow stretches wide and blocks God's way

Like a foolish child he stumbles blind, and arrogant and oh so cruel

While we’re left to mend the broken world his hateful carelessness rules.

[Chorus]

Hold your babies tight so that they can't feel the whole world shake

Pray for strength to shield them from the mess he's made

Their innocence is caught in the cross hairs of a battle

That was never meant for them to fight

Our love’s the only anchor in their endless night

So hold your babies tight so that they can't feel the whole world shake

[Verse 2]

His hands are small but his damage is huge and profound

While He laughs, mocks and smirks while the skies grow dark with his hate filled clouds

We watch the chaos as it ripples far beyond our shores

Praying we can just get back to the love, peace and glory we knew before

[Bridge]

And when the dust finally settles and we see how badly the world is torn

We’ll rebuild with hands worn and with hearts reborn

The cowards he leads will crumble and fall, but God's strong ones will remain

Love will rise like the sun after endless rain

Chorus]

Hold your babies tight so that they can't feel the whole world shake

Pray for strength to shield them from the mess he's made

Their innocence is caught in the cross hairs of a battle

That was never meant for them to fight

Our love’s the only anchor in their endless night

So hold your babies tight so that they can't feel the whole world shake
