Stuck at the soles of my feet, she follows me,
And it's hard to discern just whose destiny is predetermined.
Decisive steps and movements made;
Compulsion or decision, energy converted.
An unrequited love, an eclipse, a near kiss,
And I wonder what she does at night when I'm sleeping.
Does she dance around the room alone?
Does she travel outside while I'm dreaming?
I wonder if she misses the sunlight,
Obstructions constantly blocking her view.
It might be I who is the darkness;
A storm cloud avoiding the truth.
Are we one and the same? Are we in each other's way?
If my shadow could speak, what would she say?
