A cavalcade of human history
Shrouded in mists of mystery
Empires rise
Empires fall
Grand edifices are erected
Only later, in war, rejected
Time and tide
Walk or ride
We are most of us merely observers
A few attempt to become preservers
But even those chronicles kept
Fall to ash as mankind wept
We try to learn, to grow, to become
Yet to vain temptation we succumb
Perceived permanence is only temporary
As monks pray at eternity's seminary
All we have done, experienced, learned, achieved
Is but an illusory image by which we are deceived
We none of us know the final answer
Is mankind to earth savior or cancer?

I think your poem is a well-written and thought-provoking piece. It is a poem that I will continue to think about long after I have finished reading it.🙄🤔
