Every day and after school
He’d come to sit at the pier
Cast his pole far beyond
Until the sun has settled in
No complaints were made of him
When his line gets no nibble
He would shrug and reel it in
Another day he hopes to catch
His place of peace, his place of fun
Fishing is what he loves
Even if he catches none
The day is not a total waste
The sunset he loves to watch
Children splashing here and there
The great beachfront of Malesso
In his heart forevermore
Then one day the Lord came calling
For his soul to rest above
His fishing spot is now an empty spot
But in our hearts is where he’ll be
